Biography

I have always gravitated towards photographing people. It is the unscripted, unexpected moments that pass by so quickly that make it all so intriguing to me — a smirk, a smile, a pensiveness, a fleeting facial expression — these are the unique realities that I love to capture on camera.

This authenticity is so readily able to come through because I work to make each and every person that I photograph feel at ease. This ability together with the use of my signature dramatic light ensures that I achieve the intended shot time and time again.

My portraits and lifestyle photographs celebrate diversity from the boardroom to the writer’s studio and from the wedding ceremony to the announcement of a new baby. In my fine art practice, I explore light, landscapes, the elements of nature, and details in compelling ways.

While simultaneously beginning my eponymous business, I was the studio manager for renowned portrait photographer Robyn Twomey. Prior to that, I worked as a freelance photographer for The Argentimes, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I also worked as a photo producer for Wired and a studio manager for likewise renowned National Geographic photographer Ed Kashi, both in San Francisco, California.

My work has been featured in numerous publications including The Boston Globe, Click Magazine and Wired, among others. I have been included in the Peabody Essex Museum’s Salem Stories exhibition, led the Salem Arts Festival Salem Small Business Portrait Project exhibition and I have displayed my award winning fine art work at North Shore Massachusetts businesses.

Giving back to the community has always been important to me. I have participated as an event sponsor and donated my services to a wide range of mission driven local non-profit organizations, in addition to being a mentor to the next generation of great photographers.

I am a member of ClickPro, a photography association for professional development that amplifies the voices of female photographers worldwide.

I graduated from the Academy of Art University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. I am fluent in Spanish also having graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish as a minor and History as a major.

I live and work, by the sea, in Salem, Massachusetts.
